I’m no stranger to radio. Over the last 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of broadcasting on and off, sharing my love for music and storytelling. My journey began back in 1990 when I first caught the radio bug. Growing up in Plymouth, Devon, I decided to volunteer at my local hospital radio station, and from that moment, I was hooked.
That passion took me to Bournemouth, where I got involved in the RSL of The NRG, which later became Fire Radio. I hosted the early breakfast shows on weekends, and it was an incredible experience. Soon after, I ventured to Tenerife, where I landed an overnight shift on Oasis FM. Portugal came calling not long after, and I was offered holiday cover on Kiss FM.
In 2007, I returned to the UK to help launch Devon’s newest radio station, Exeter FM. I spent a couple of years there, presenting the weekend late shows and enjoying every moment. Then, in 2014, I moved to Leeds to study journalism, earning a 2:1 degree. While studying, I read news bulletins for Bauer Media on Viking FM and Radio Aire, which have since become Hits Radio and Greatest Hits Radio. I also worked on the newsdesk at KLFM in West Norfolk, a UKRD station. During my time there, I was approached by the news editor of Minster FM in York and Stray FM in North Yorkshire, where I ended up reading news bulletins across the region.
While living in Yorkshire, I got involved with the original launch of Diamond Life and hosted the Saturday afternoon show online for several years until the station closed. In 2023, I decided it was time to return to my roots in Plymouth. I now manage my own radio consultancy and voiceover company, LP Media. It’s been a rewarding journey, and I’ve reconnected with familiar faces, reclaiming my original timeslot from 1 pm to 3 pm every Saturday.
Every week, I get to share my favorite tracks from the last seven decades. It’s a joy to be back on air, doing what I love most, and connecting with listeners once again.
